Built by Educators & Operators

TheChangersAdventures® comes from two people who’ve each spent decades building things from scratch, in early-childhood education and in global marketing.

Betsy Weaver, Ed.D.

Betsy Weaver, Ed.D., Founder and Chief Creative Officer

Founder & Chief Creative Officer

Betsy holds an Ed.D. in Social Policy Analysis and an M.A. in Policy in Education, both from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, along with dual M.S. degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Bank Street College of Education and a B.A. in Sociology from Lake Forest College.

She began her career in Washington, working as an assistant to the U.S. Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Education during the Carter administration, helping implement the country’s newly enacted special-education law, before running her own education consultancy in Boston.

In 1984, Betsy founded Parents’ Plus, Inc. and created The Boston Parents’ Paper, one of the first regional parenting newspapers in the country. She went on to serve as president of Parenting Publications of America, the industry’s national trade association, and built out the Family Forum event series in Boston, Atlanta, Phoenix, and San Francisco. Parents’ Plus was later acquired, her first company built and sold.

In 2002, she founded TPR Media LLC, doing business as UbiCare, a digital patient-engagement company serving hospitals and health systems including Boston Children’s Hospital and Texas Health Resources, and certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise. She built UbiCare into a nationally recognized digital-health company before selling it, her second exit.

BGG Creative Studio, and TheChangersAdventures®, is her third company built from the ground up, this time bringing her early-childhood education background directly into the product, working alongside co-creators Alan Trinkle, Shami McCormick, and Nate Wolf.

Her honors include recognition as a finalist for the Enterprising Women of the Year Awards and for New England Women Business Owners’ Business Woman of the Year, and the Distinguished Publisher for Lifetime Achievement award from Parenting Publications of America.

Alan J. Trinkle, Chief Executive Officer

CEO

Alan brings two decades of global marketing leadership to TheChangersAdventures®, with a career built at some of the world’s largest media and advertising agencies.

He began at Mediacom/Beyond in New York, working on Volkswagen and Bentley Motors of America and planning the client’s first Spanish-language branding campaign. He then spent seven years at Carat in Boston, rising to Global Digital Strategist, where he directed digital marketing and brand strategy across 40 international markets for Reebok. There, he led the global rebrand of Reebok as a fitness brand, negotiated the brand’s launch partnership with Spotify (creating the “FitList” platform, later an OMMA Award winner), and negotiated one of the first brand integrations into Google Maps and Street View. He also grew Reebok’s e-commerce business from $300K to $2M in a single year while managing budgets of up to $50M annually.

From Carat, Alan moved to Mindshare in Portland, Oregon, as Global Client & Office Lead, growing a three-person team into a global group of more than 250 people, with revenue exceeding $30M within four years. He expanded the agency’s Facebook remit across Instagram, WhatsApp, and Internet.org, and oversaw the office’s full build-out to support that growth.

He went on to serve as President (and previously Chief Client Officer) of m/SIX in New York, doubling the agency’s size and revenue, adding Electronic Arts, Haribo, and Clarins to the client roster, and holding the agency’s client base together through the pandemic.

Over his career, Alan has advised C-suite and senior leadership teams on business, technology, and media strategy for brands including Volkswagen, Bentley, Aston Martin, Facebook, Instagram, Reebok, Electronic Arts, AstraZeneca, Merrill Lynch, US Trust, Regions Bank, Bank of New York Mellon, Constellation Brands, OLLY, Clarins, David Yurman, and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

He holds a BS in Marketing, with a minor in Advertising, from the University of Vermont.
