Btwx.me — Take me there

Point your phone at a printed page. Not at a code — at the page itself. Everything on it becomes a door.

be·twixt — in the space separating two people or things; in between.

A hand holding a phone over a printed page from the book Bea. The page shows the Magic Word Beatrice, and the phone screen shows the illustrated character and the content that opens.

The word on the page opens what is behind it.

The QR code was a compromise.
You don't have to make it anymore.

A QR code is a scar on your design. It occupies space, tells the reader nothing, and goes exactly one place. To add one, you have to reprint everything you have already printed.

One code, one destination

Btwx.me puts as many hotspots on a single page as the page can hold. A word, a face, a product, a corner of an illustration — each with its own destination.

Nothing to redesign

It reads the artwork you already made. Your books, cards, posters and packaging stay exactly as they are. No black square anywhere.

Nothing to reprint

Change where a hotspot leads whenever you want. The paper never changes. Printed material stops being frozen the day it leaves the press.

For readers

Three steps, no app

1

Go to BTWX.ME

Type btwx.me into your phone's browser the same way you would go to any website. There is nothing to download and nothing in an app store.

2

Create a simple account

We recommend using your email address. One account, then you are in.

3

Photograph the whole page

Not a corner, not a code — the entire page. Follow the prompt and take the picture.

4

Explore and enjoy

Every linked word and image on that page comes alive. Tap and go.

Try it on this page, right now

Below is a page from Bea, the first book in The Changers Adventures®. Beatrice and fairies are Magic Words. Open btwx.me on your phone, photograph the image below, and watch it open.

Works best in good light, held steady, with the whole page in frame.

Open BTWX.ME

Opens in a new tab — this page stays where it is.

Yes, you are photographing a screen

Squint a little. In the real world this is paper — in a hand, on a wall, on a table — and the paper is entirely the point. A children's book is just the example we happened to have lying around.

  • A novel. The town on page 40 opens a map of the real place it was based on, and the author explaining why she picked it.
  • A poster. The date books the appointment. The phone number places the call. The address opens directions. Nothing on the poster moves an inch.
  • A menu. Tap an ingredient and it explains itself. Tap the wine and the vineyard pours you two minutes of video. Tap the chef and you are on the reservation page.
  • A conference program. A panelist's face opens their bio, their LinkedIn, and an add-to-calendar for their session.
  • A packing carton. The part number opens the fitting instructions, the warranty, and the reorder form.

Same trick every time. The page stays beautiful. The depth hides behind it.

For your business

Four steps, no reprint

1

Send us the artwork

A PDF or a JPEG of whatever you already print. Books, cards, posters, packaging, programs, plaques.

2

We mark the hotspots

Any region of the page becomes tappable — a word, a logo, a face, a product, a corner of an illustration.

3

Assign destinations

A video, a booking page, a bio, a map, a calendar invite, a store, a direct email. As many as the page can carry.

4

Change your mind whenever

Swap any destination at any time. The printed piece in someone's hands quietly starts pointing somewhere new.

Anything you have already printed

The technology matches images, not content. What is on the page is irrelevant to it — which is exactly why it travels so far beyond books.

Books & publishing

Magic Words, origin stories, read-aloud audio and activities living behind the printed page.

Business cards

Your bio, LinkedIn, calendar and a direct line — from a card that still looks like a card.

Advertising & packaging

Several products in a single image, each one its own destination and its own measurable click.

Museums & galleries

Depth behind the plaque without cluttering the wall or the visitor's line of sight.

Events & conferences

Panelist bios, RSVP, add-to-calendar and directions, straight off the printed program.

Education

Classroom material that opens into video, discussion prompts and activities, on the teacher's schedule.

You find out what happened

Print has never reported back before. Every scan is a measurable event: which pages get photographed, which hotspots get tapped, and which destinations actually earn attention.

Included as standard

Scans by page, clicks by hotspot, and destination performance — so you can see which parts of a printed piece are doing the work.

Available on request

Deeper instrumentation, including video play and completion rates, dwell time and repeat visits, scoped per engagement.

Connects to your stack

Third-party tracking can be layered in so Btwx.me activity lands alongside the analytics you already run.

The technology

Computer vision doing something useful

Btwx.me combines computer vision, machine learning and augmented reality to match a photographed page against reference artwork, then lays your hotspots over the top of it. It runs in the browser, so there is no app to ship, no store to clear, and no install standing between a reader and the page in front of them.
Built by BGG Creative Studio and proven first inside The Changers Adventures® book series, where it has been in readers’ hands since 2024.
